FUF #7: Back on track!!!

Yay-yeah! This week’s goals…check and check!

Closet cleaned and organized…with a stack of clothes to deliver to Goodwill. Will try to take care of that next week.

And…here’s my first of 5 Pinterest projects that I said I’d complete before I turn 27!

Can you tell what college I went to?!? Lol! GO COCKS!!!

Not the straightest and most perfectly lined up quilt but for my first try at it, I’m pretty proud of my first DIY quilt! This project made me fall in love with a sewing machine and I think I’ll have to invest in one. Thanks to my MIL who let me borrow hers for the week so I could complete this project and make up my mind about getting my own! Now to pin for sewing projects on Pinterest…hehehe!!!

So glad that this week was pretty productive! 👍 Here’s to keeping it simple, stupid. KISS! 💋

MPM#7: Get back on track…

With only about 8 months left before year 26 ends, I’ve got some serious work to do to knock out some of my your days are numbered ’26’ list

Here’s a couple I want to tackle this week:

7) Finish at least five Pinterest projects waiting to be started on my boards.

16) Thoroughly clean out my closet and purge clothes (so my husband can have some decent closet space for once!!! ).

And here is how I will accomplish the above two:

Will stick to these two as my goal for the week because just the closet alone is going to be quite the task–let alone making this quilt! 🙂

I’m super excited…anyone else have worked on something like this and have any tips for me?

MPM #6: MPM’s gettin’ hijacked by TuesdayPM

Bah! Bah, on failing to blog last night…the 14-hr work shift really leaves very little time to have even just a brief moment to have some solo me-time to think about this week’s goals, but nevertheless, it’s never too late to get started. (Wow! Talk about a run-on sentence! Lol!)

So…here are my three goals this week:

ONE

20140211-163910.jpg

This week (all two days of it thus far at work) has already proven to be a mad-house type of week with yet another snow-pocalypse. I’ve had to pretty much scrap most plans I’ve made (to get ahead for that store visit I had previously mentioned) and just try to roll with the punches. But as well as I’ve been doing that, I’ve been failing to even just take a breath!!! Bah! Hilarious that the quote above is the one of the first few pins under the “quotes” section on my Pinterest–as if it was specifically talking to ME!!!

TWO

‘Nuff said!

THREE

Well…I’ll stop at those two simple and basic goals for now! Don’t want to bite off too much more than I can chew! Lol!

MPM #5: Startin’ off another week…

20140203-233910.jpg

I just love, love, l❤️ve Pinterest, and this morning, the above poster was the first on the feed I was browsing and it made me wonder if it was specifically trying to talk to me…lol.

So, starting this week off right and pressing on…here are this week’s goals:

1) Wrap up last week’s projects: mail the care package and edit my photographs!

2) Make it to back to the gym at least 4-5 days this week (since I didn’t at all during my long work week last week…bah!!!)

3) Knock off another from my 26 list: clean a room and purge clothes some things, anything…

I really am calling myself out with the number 3 because if I don’t post this and hold myself accountable, I’m always going to find a way to justify keeping some of the most random stuff I have and don’t use!

So…short and sweet this week as I take one from my high school Physics teacher–Mr. Rogers, “K.I.S.S.: Keep It Simple Stupid!” I’m sure he didn’t come up with it but he sure did use that saying every time we tried to work on some complicated problem or fixed up our robotics project—yes, I said ‘robotics.’ *nerd much?!? Lol*

Alright…what’s your three? Lemme know how it’s going…

New Year’s Resolutions?!? Say what?!?

I started this blog. Got a couple of hits and follows…got excited…and then got hit by the holidays and disappeared! Tsk tsk tsk! Talk about what not to do when starting a blog…or just what not to do when starting any new thing up! Smh!

Welp, here we are though! It’s that time again when everyone starts talking about new year’s resolutions and since I’ve never been too good at sticking to any that I start and since I don’t have a great track record so far with keeping up with this blog, I’ve “resolved” that I will tackle the two by starting a personal BLOG CHALLENGE!!!

So, what exactly will I do to challenge myself…

I searched high and low Google-searched for the most common NY resolutions and found an article that put together the following list:
1) Lose weight
2) Improve finances
3) Exercise more
4) Get a new/better job
5) Eat healthy
6) Manage stress
7) Quit smoking
8) Improve relationship
9) Stop procrastinating
10) Set aside “me” time

9 out of 10 could apply to me (thank God, I never picked up smoking!) but realistically speaking, that is all too much to take on all at once but I really do need to adapt each one into my lifestyle in some shape and form…so here’s the blog challenge idea I just came up with:

2 blogs a week: Mission Possible Mondays and Follow-Up Fridays

Every Monday, I’ll post about a task I’ll get myself to focus on for the week that will help improve on one of the above 9 resolutions. Then, on the following Friday, I will update on my progress. Hopefully, by challenging myself on a weekly basis, my baby steps will be more rewarding and result in a more successful path to a better me in 2014!

Anyone want to join me? Comment and let me know how you do with the challenge…I’m sure I’ll need some encouragement, too!
